Our mission is to help girls 15-19 realize their power, creativity and voice in media production and encourage them to explore opportunities as future media-makers. We want to encourage girls to be creative, tech-savvy leaders who will help realize gender equity in media industries. We want to foster the POWER of WOMEN in MEDIA.

Portland Feature Film “Birds of Neptune” Wins Big at the Arizona International Film Festival!

Portland production Birds of Neptune takes home Best Dramatic Feature at the Arizona International Film Festival, and the Special Jury Award for Best Performance to Britt Harris!   Birds of Neptune written and directed by Steven Richter, produced by Lara Cuddy, stars Britt Harris, Molly Elizabeth Parker and Kurt Conroyd.

Birds of Neptune will screen next at the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival on May 29th.  Director Steven Richter and actors Britt Harris and Molly Elizabeth Parker will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.

Oregon Road Sessions: The Weather Machine – Debuts Music In Five State Parks

Above Slater Smith and The Weather Machine play “Wild West Coast” at Peter Skene Ogden State Park .  Four more bands will be featured at four other state park locations.  (To learn more about this project, listen to OPB’s State of Wonder this Saturday at noon.)  You can read more about Slater Smith, and Oregon State parks’ quest to bring music to the outdoors at OPBMUSIC.

Last year Slater traveled to every Oregon state park and featured a shot in each for the band’s creative music video, “Back O’er Oregon“.

Vu Pham’s New Permutations at Cinema 21

LOVE IS STRONG, a triad of short films by writer/director Vu Pham, will screen at Cinema 21
on May 2nd at 3:00PM. The films will be introduced by Lawrence Johnson, an award-winning
director of the films Stuff and Hand Game. Following the screening will be a Q&A with Pham
and the films’ cast and crew.

Pham’s previous works includes My Brother (2014), a film exploring the ambivalent relationship
between a Vietnamese-American man and his estranged brother. It was featured at the San Diego
Asian Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, and Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

“Green Room” Announced for Directors’ Fortnight 2015

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 7.18.31 AMThis year’s Cannes Director’s Fortnight lineup will feature a number of American independent titles, including the world premiere of Oregon-shot-and-produced “Green Room,”  the latest thriller from Fortnight alum, Jeremy Saulnier (“Blue Ruin”), produced by Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani and Victor Moyers.
