The Most Cinematic Book Trailer Ever Produced!

Producers Irl Davis and Randolph Sellars are proud to announce the upcoming release of “Polly, The Mystery of Bonney Canyon,” the highest production value book trailer ever produced. Book trailers are still relatively new as a media form.   Unfortunately, the bulk of them have been made at a glaringly low production quality with cheap graphics, animated stills, and cheesy music.

“Our goal is to raise the quality bar much higher for book trailers” says Davis, who wrote and produced the project.

Hollywood Theatre Spreading the Good Word on Hope For Film

I don’t know what’s appropriate when it comes to blogging about a blog, but it was brought to my attention that the good works at the Hollywood Theatre made it on Ted Hope’s “Hope For Film” blog this week and I needed to help spread the word.  Justen Harn is the Director of Programs and Community Engagement at the Hollywood Theatre and his work along with Executive Director Doug Whyte continues to push the boundaries of what it means to be a movie theatre in the 21st Century.

Behind The “Back O’er Oregon” Music Video and Website

Jotham Porzio

By now you may well have read some of the blog posts here about Slater Smith, his band “The Weather Machine” and the journey Smith undertook (in conjunction with Oregon Film and Oregon State Parks) to get the music video and corresponding web site up.  (As a reminder, Smith made an ambitious trip around Oregon visiting 185 Oregon State Parks to bring us his new music video for the single, “Back O’er Oregon”). But what about the folks behind the scenes on this project?

Reese Witherspoon’s “Wild” Shot More Locations In Oregon Than Any Other Project To Date

(All these great Oregon pictures were taken by Reese Witherspoon while on location for “Wild”)

It was gratifying that “Wild” shot in more places in our state than any other feature film to date.  Reese Witherspoon (“Walk The Line, Mud”) traveled the entire length of Oregon from southern and central regions, up to the Gorge and Portland metro while shooting (author), Cheryl Strayed’s, NY Times best-seller novel, “Wild”.  Witherspoon is not only starring in this Fox Searchlight feature, but producing with business partner Bruna Papandrea (“Warm Bodies”, “all Good Things”) under their Pacific Standard banner, and River Road’s, Bill Pohland (“The Tree of Life”, “Twelve Years A Slave”).

Oregon Film Incentive Update – Incentives Available in OPIF and iOPIF

Film CommissionWith 2014 coming quickly, we thought it would be a good idea to send out an update on the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) and the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund (iOPIF).
