In partnership with Travel Portland, the Portland Events and Film Office is excited to offer a new grant opportunity created to amplify previously unheard stories of Portlanders.

The Amplify Portland: Local Filmmakers Production Grant aims to create opportunity for filmmakers utilizing local talent, crew and vendors during production.

Application Open for OCF’s Small Arts & Culture Grants

Oregon Community Foundation’s Small Arts & Culture Grants Program is now accepting applications!

Could your organization use some support to advance your mission? Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) seeks applications from arts and culture nonprofit organizations with budgets under $100,000. One-year grants of $1,000 to $5,000 for general operating support will be awarded across the state with $350,000 in total grant funding available annually.

Review the eligibility guidelines in the Request for Proposals to see if this opportunity might be a good fit for your organization.

BendFilm Launches BIPOC Women Production Film Grant

On-screen representation affects cultural understanding of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ characters. Barriers need to be broken down until equal representation is achieved on-screen and behind the camera.

BendFilm’s Grant will support a BIPOC women artist with $20,000 toward making their short or feature film. The grant supports storytellers who are working to tell creative and complex stories told from a point of view that is unique and authentic.

Creative Opportunity Grant Program – Call for Submissions

We are accepting proposals from partner organizations for projects to be considered for the next Creative Opportunity Program funding from Oregon Film through 5p September 1, 2023. If you run or are part of an media focused organization (non-profit, membership or public benefit entity) and have a program that you believe will be helpful to grow, educate, enlighten, train or otherwise benefit the film, television, animation, commercial, interactive or media community here in Oregon please send us your proposals.

“Tell Your Story” Grant Winners Announed

The winners of this year’s “Tell Your Story” grants are Karina Lomelin Ripper and Luann Algoso & Christian Henry. These filmmakers will receive a non-project-specific grant of $15,000 and at least six months of direct support from the Oregon Film Office as well as shared office space at Desert Island Studios. The grant was designed to support a non-project-specific, virtual residency, allowing filmmakers to develop, explore, and shoot the stories they want to tell in any film format they choose. Portland Post-Production Grant Program Winners Announced

The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Travel Portland, has announced the recipients of its 2023 Portland Post-Production Grant Program. Selected from a pool of 32 applicants, four local filmmakers will receive $7,500 each for their respective projects.

The grant program is intended to support the professional development of local Portland filmmakers by providing funds for such activities as sound, picture editing, color matching, color grading, closed caption, tech specs for distributors, and music clearances using local post-production houses.

Portland Film Office Post-Production Grant Opens for Submissions March 14

For the fourth year, the Portland Film Office (@PDXFilmOffice), in partnership with Travel Portland (@TravelPortland), is proud to offer four grants of $7,500 each for Oregonbased independent feature-length film productions. The funding is designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length film and position local producers to build toward larger, more resourced productions.

Past recipients of the Post-Production Grant have included Mother of Color, which premiered in the Portland area and is circulating the film festival docket with much successDearest Eva, premiered at OMSI in August of 2022, and past recipients “Sophie Jones” and “Clementine” (starring Sydney Sweeney of “Euphoria” fame) both received distribution from Oscilloscope. Confluence Announces Filmmaker Fellows Program

Confluence is pleased to announce the Confluence Filmmaker Fellows program in partnership with Oregon Film and the Creative Opportunity Program. Three Indigenous video artists with a cultural connection to Oregon will receive cash prizes to support a film project they are developing: one for $5,000 and two for $2,500. Creative Opportunity Program Launches for 2022-23

Last legislative session a bill passed that allowed Oregon Film to allocate funds to a program called the “Creative Opportunity Program.” This program dedicates up to $375,000 per year to creative projects, producers and programs around the state. These programs include the continuation of existing programs like the Pathways job training and placement program, the Outdoor Adventure Film Grant, the Tell Your Story Grant and partnership programs like CINE/SEEN and Creatives of Color Networking events (OMPA) and the BIPOC Filmmaker Grant (BendFilm).
