Oregon Film: Who We Are And What We Do – 2021

We are finally seeing the light at the end of a very long tunnel for many of us. This doesn’t mean the work is done or there won’t be challenges and changes going forward, but it does mean that we are starting to see more opportunity and more creativity in all areas of our industry here in Oregon.

Oregon’s open spaces and outdoor pursuits are for all Americans and visitors, yet there is a well-documented inequity in America that is deeply rooted in our shared cultural history, and as a whole, our outdoor spaces are not equally utilized for a multitude of historical, social and cultural reasons. The Outdoor Adventure Film Grant ’21 (OAFG21) aims to help support and amplify stories and storytellers (both in front of and behind the camera) utilizing Oregon’s outdoor spaces as a backdrop. Winter Season Grant – “Wish You Were Here” – Blue Chalk Media

Blue Chalk Media were the winners the 2019 $15,000 “Winter Season Grant” – provided by the OregonMade Creative Foundation and Travel Oregon – and have now successfully created two short films of “moving postcard stories” based on the brief to make a film series that would “captivate and encourage people to experience the winter season for themselves.”

We pitched a series of short narrative pieces that highlighted different, often overlooked, winter areas of Oregon. The resulting films are a love letter to Oregon’s Alvord Desert and the Suttle Lake near Sisters. Continue reading... “Winter Season Grant – “Wish You Were Here” – Blue Chalk Media”

Portland Post-Production Film Grant Now Open

The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Oregon Made Creative Foundation (OMCF), invites local filmmakers to apply for funding designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length project and position producers to build towards larger, more resourced productions.

The Post-Production Film Grant Program supports the professional development of small, local filmmakers by providing funds for activities including sound design, scoring, editing, color correction, closed captioning, VFX, and music clearances using local post-production houses.

New #OregonMade Outdoor Adventure Film Grant – Production Underway

In late 2017, the Oregon Made Creative Foundation (in partnership with Oregon Film,) Travel Oregon, Danner Boots, and the Portland Film Office at Prosper Portland partnered together to bring  funding for a new grant: The Outdoor Adventure Film Grant.

This Grant has enabled our filmmakers, Emilia Quinton and Liz Haan to begin creating a short film that specifically showcases the spirit, passion, and excitement of the outdoor-adventure, or action sports film genres in the state of Oregon and today, we’re excited to share some behind the scenes of what the grantees have been up to! #OregonMade Animation Apprenticeship Now Open for Applications

Together with award-winning animation studio ShadowMachine, the #OregonMade Creative Foundation has just launched a unique paid apprenticeship program focusing on hands-on, stop-motion animation production work.

ShadowMachine is about to go into production on a stop-motion series and we have worked together to create two, three month, paid apprenticeship positions on the project.
