Me, I’m not a sportser. Call me the Gutter Queen. Or “She Who Picks Dandelions in Right Field,” but I’ve never grokked athletics. I do love the salty snacks, though.

And the camaraderie. I like that a lot.

I dig the friendly competition between folks playing anything having to do with getting balls of various sizes into various containers, whether netted or mitted or flagged. “Birds of Neptune” Will Screen Opening Night At The Portland Film Festival

 

BONposterplainBirds of Neptune, an independent film by Steven Richter, will be the Opening Night narrative feature at this year’s Portland Film Festival.

The film host an all Portland based cast, crew, vendors and services.  It premiered at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival and has since gone on to win Best Dramatic Feature and Best Performance at the Arizona International Film Festival.  It has also played at the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival and will be playing at the AMFM FEST: Flagstaff this August.   Continue reading... ““Birds of Neptune” Will Screen Opening Night At The Portland Film Festival”

A Zombie-Short-Film-Guinness-Attempt Comes to Portland

On the streets of Portland, Ore., on Monday, Sept. 7, while the rest of the country will be celebrating Labor Day, the Portland Film Festival will be ringing in Zombie Day Apocalypse. And what better way to celebrate than with a record-setting event.

Portland Filmmaker Wins 9 National Telly Awards

 

Screen Shot 2015-07-20 at 8.56.36 AM Portland filmmaker David Poulshock and his production company Red Door Films were recently awarded an astounding nine Telly Awards for TV commercials and web videos they produced on behalf of clients Spirit Mountain Casino and Goodwill Industries of the Columbia-Willamette.

“It’s a real honor,” said Poulshock, “especially for the recognition it gives the wonderful talent and stellar production crews who worked on these projects.” According to Poulshock, the overall production included six :30 spots for Spirit Mountain Casino, and five :30 spots and four 3-minute web documentaries for Goodwill. The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction is Currently Underway!

opif-auction-2015The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 8 and continues through July 17.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits.

Bids can be placed through the online auction at the following link: 

http://www.oregon.gov/dor/PERTAX/Pages/credit-auction-info.aspx

20,000 increments of $500 tax credit certificates are available.  Businesses and individuals with an Oregon income tax liability may bid on the certificates. The credit can be claimed on your 2015 state income tax return. 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction Coming Up July 8-17

opif-auction-2015We just wanted to remind everyone that the Oregon Department of Revenue is planning to once again conduct a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) this July.  The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned this year will be $10,000,000.

The process will be exactly the same as the successful auction conducted last July.  We will be working hard to make sure all the tax credits sell out in the designated time frame.  If we are successful in this goal, this will be the only opportunity for people to contribute to the fund and receive OPIF tax credits for 2015. Oregon Story Board’s 2015 Accelerator Class Is Announced


 

Oregon Story Board announced today the the eight new companies who will be part of the second accelerator class, and the first occupants of their new space in Portland’s Old Town (Old Town Lofts at 411 NW Flanders.)

These companies represent the mix of film, video, animation, visual effects, digital media, and gaming industries that make up Oregon’s digital storytelling ecosystem. Technology Association of Oregon Opens Satellite Office in Eugene

TECHnology Association of OregonThe Technology Association of Oregon, an organization that advocates for the state’s tech companies, and whose vision is to “create a world-class and inclusive innovation economy in Oregon and SW Washington by helping the region’s technology and tech-enabled industries to grow through programs and initiatives that focus on industry promotion, advocacy, professional networks, and talent development” has opened a satellite office in Eugene.
