Devin Stinson and Donald Cobbs, both agree and understand that Portland is such an amazingly unique and diverse city, unlike any other in the nation, and they wanted to create an anthem that highlighted all of those things.
Donald Cobbs came to Portland when he was 7yrs. old. He was here prior to the building of the Memorial Coliseum, during a time where the only sports team that represented Portland, was the Portland Buckaroos. After great screenings at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and the Museum of Modern Art, Matt McCormick’s documentary film “The Great Northwest” is being screened right here in the real life Great Northwest.
The film will screen on May 2-3 in Portland at the Northwest Film Center.
The Great Northwest is an experimental documentary based on the re-creation of a 3,200 mile road-trip made in 1958 by four Seattle women who thoroughly documented their journey in an elaborate scrapbook of photos, postcards, and brochures. Portland Feature Film “Cell Count” has World Premiere and closes the Fantaspoa Film Festival in Porto Alegre Brazil.

PORTLAND, Oregon (March 05, 2012) – The Fantaspoa Film Festival announced today that the Portland feature film “Cell Count,” made by Polluted Pictures in association with Wooden Frame Productions, is the Closing Night Film at their Festival in May. Last year’s Closing Night Film, “Stakeland”, was later released in theaters in 2011 by IFC Films and Dark Sky Films.
Cell Count was the third of three feature films shot in 2011 from Wooden Frame Productions that utilized the Oregon state iOPIF rebate program which provides rebates of 20% of goods and services and 10% of Oregon labor for films produced by Oregon filmmakers who spend a minimum of $75,000 but not more than $750,000 on their project.
