An engineer from S Africa with a creative bent, Owen started his film career in the Motion Picture & TV industry at Pinewood Studios with Superman, and climbed the ranks to Gaffer and Director of Photography on a long list of feature films, music videos, and tv commercials, working alongside some of the top cinematographers in the world.

SOU Digital Cinema Named as a Top Film School

It’s official: Southern Oregon University’s Digital Cinema program makes SOU one of the best film schools in North America. The current edition of MovieMaker magazine, which bills itself as the world’s most widely read independent film magazine, includes SOU among its picks for the “30 Best Film Schools in the U.S. & Canada.”

Oregon Film – Who We Are and What We Do (June 2024 Update)

It’s that time of year again. Here’s an update on the work we’ve been doing.

Oregon Film, sometimes called the Oregon Film & Video Office other times called the Governor’s Office of Film & Television, is the oldest US state film commission that we know of. Founded in 1968 our mission is to develop, grow and support the film and media industry here in Oregon.

BAMPIRE: New Bambi horror movie produced in Eugene, OR!

BAMPIRE, a new Bambi horror movie produced and filmed in Eugene, Oregon was just announced on Indiegogo! The film is an independent horror comedy directed by Taylor Morden (The Last Blockbuster) and written by Zoë Wassman both of whom are based in Eugene, OR. The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign features first-look footage as well as limited edition merchandise and the ability to pre-order copies of the movie.

#OregonMade “Little Wing” Comes To Paramount+ March 13

#OregonMade LITTLE WING, a heartwarming coming-of-age story from Awesomeness, will premiere on Wednesday, March 13, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, and the following day in the UK and Australia.

LITTLE WING follows Kaitlyn, a teen who is reeling from her parent’s divorce and the pending loss of her home. She and her best friend hope to solve her mother’s financial woes by stealing a valuable bird, but Kaitlyn, instead, forms a bond with the owner, that leads her to a new outlook on life.

Indigenous Media Guild Launches Website

The Indigenous Media Guild has launched a new site supporting its members along side strengthening its social media presence.  Oregon welcomes this new resource and encourages producers and creatives to check out their listings to find your next crew.

The new site is IndigenousMediaGuild.org and you cam find them @IndigenousMediaGuild on IG and FB.

IMG offers membership to both Indigenous/Native cast and crew, AND non native allies. All the information on membership can be found here – https://www.indigenousmediaguild.org/membership
