The Historic Oregon Film Trail Unveils First Signs In Astoria

 

Unveiling of one of three signs in Astoria marking the beginning of the Historic Oregon Film Trail.

The Historic Oregon Film Trail has officially begun!

The Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Film Office developed the initial concept of the Historic Oregon Film Trail (HOFT) and identified Astoria movie locations, in partnership with the Oregon Film Museum, that represent the beginning of the Trail.  The Oregon Coast Visitors Association provided additional funding and support for the signs.

Spotlight On Location Professional – Mathew Noack

Mathew Noack at the top of the Gorge, Oregon.
Born and raised a boy scout in rural Oregon, Mathew Noack is a true son of the state. Upon graduating high school, he dug deep into the Oregon soil, pulled up his roots and posted sail. Catching eastward winds, he landed in Colorado, Texas and eventually Florida. This is where he completed his film degree at what was then Full Sail Real World Education, now Full Sail University.
Returning to Oregon, he spent seven years trying to find a sustainable place for himself in the media production industry.

OPIF Tax Credit Auction – December Edition

The Oregon Department of Revenue will be holding another auction for approximately $1M in tax credits for the 2018-19 Oregon Production Investment Fund (“OPIF”). The auction will be held for 3 days only from Wednesday to Friday, December 5-7, 2018. The credits will be sold in $500 increments and the minimum bid will be 95% of face value (i.e. $475 for a $500 credit). Multiple increments can be purchased. Portland Dark: The Writer’s Speak!

The #OregonMade Creative Foundation and Comcast are proud to be supporters of Lower Boom’s Diversity and Inclusion Writing Initiative. This project is focused on giving diverse and historically disenfranchised writers an opportunity to write for TV. Currently, six writers are gathering on a weekly basis to work on the pilot and series script for an original, home grown prestige drama, Portland Dark.
