#OregonMade “Kansas City Bomber” & Rose City Rollers Coming April 1

You probably already know about our upcoming screening of Raquel Welch in #OregonMade “Kansas City Bomber” (and, if you don’t, you should), but did you also know that KCB played a part in launching one of Portland’s most iconic sports teams? That’s right – the incomparable Rose City Rollers. And they are now partnering with us to present the film on April 1 at The Hollywood Theatre.

“Kansas City Bomber”  played a part the launch of Rose City Rollers, Portland’s premier roller derby league and home to three-time World Champions, the Wheels of Justice.

Ashland Independent Film Festival To Announce Full Line-Up At Festival Preview Night & Offers A Sneak Peek At 10 Highlights

The Ashland Independent Film Festival has unveiled ten film selections from its 18th annual edition. The full line-up will be released at Festival Preview Night, to be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at the SOU Music Recital Hall in Ashland. Heading the list of early highlights is the world premiere of Ashland filmmakers Gary and Annie Lundgren’s Phoenix, Oregon, starring James Le Gros and Jesse Borrego as two friends who, defying midlife haze, seize an unlikely opportunity to reinvent their lives, quitting their jobs to restore an old bowling alley and serve the “world’s greatest pizza.”

#OregonMade “Clementine” Will Premiere At Tribeca

#OregonMade “Clementine” will have its world premiere at Tribeca 2019 and is to be shown in the US Narrative Feature Competition.  Tribeca 2019 will take place April 24-May 5th in New York City.

“Clementine” was directed and written by, Lara Jean Gallagher,  and produced by Aimee Lynn Barneburg, Davis Priestley, and Karina Ripper.

The movie takes place in Oregon (Florence and Portland) – “reeling from a one-sided breakup, heartbroken Karen breaks into her ex’s lakehouse. There, she strikes up a complicated relationship with provocative younger woman Lana in this beautifully rendered psychological drama and sexual coming of age story.”

As a HouseSpecial animator, you will create the performance of computer graphics characters and objects within a shot, using animation software tools such as Maya to convey emotion, movement action and personality.  Our teams move fast; we never compromise on creativity.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to plan out shots using thumbnail drawings or other forms of thought out planning.
  • Can block in rough animation with strong clear posing, acting, timing & appeal for Director, and/or Supervisor, approval within a reasonable amount of time.

Has there ever been a cohesive Loop (ADR) Group in the Pacific Northwest? I couldn’t find one, so when I moved back to Portland from LA to raise my kid, it was time to build one. Throughout 2018, we trained, rehearsed, and even worked on a few great local projects.

Now that RebeLoop is ready to go, I asked our actors at a recent session, “How should we go about getting the word out to content creators?”

#OregonMade Film Series: Kansas City Bomber Raquel Welch Comes to Portland

Next up in our #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre is the Roller Derby classic: “Kansas City Bomber.” You may recall this film being featured in our Oregon Film history series Raiders of the Lost Archive – but, either way, here’s your chance to check it out on screen. The screening is 7p on Monday, April 1.

Raquel Welch plays aspiring roller derby sensation KC, a star-in-the-making who gets transferred to Portland early in the film, eager to become the dominant player of the local scene.
