A music video for Portland’s “Worth” shot at Last Thursday

Shot in one awesome in Portland, the new single by Portland’s “Worth” from his debut solo release “Six Foot Soul” due in August. Now that’s the way to run a Kickstarter Campaign – XOXO Festival Gets Funded

In a matter of a few short days Andy Baio(of waxy.org) has his XOXO Festival Funded.  Unfortunately that means that if you did not already contribute you won’t be able to get a ticket to the event which is scheduled for September 13-16.  Have no fear though, there will still be opportunities to experience the event as the “Market” portion of the festival will be open to the public September 15-16.  What is so exciting about the festival is that it is yet another example of multiple worlds of creativity and tech coming together for a conversation about what is happening and what is next.  Continue reading... “Now that’s the way to run a Kickstarter Campaign – XOXO Festival Gets Funded”

Portland Anthem

Devin Stinson and Donald Cobbs, both agree and understand that Portland is such an amazingly unique and diverse city, unlike any other in the nation, and they wanted to create an anthem that highlighted all of those things.

Donald Cobbs came to Portland when he was 7yrs. old. He was here prior to the building of the Memorial Coliseum, during a time where the only sports team that represented Portland, was the Portland Buckaroos. That was also during the time in which the Portland Zoo received a new resident, an elephant which was affectionately named Packy, and the closest thing to an anthem was the “Zoo Key Song.” Continue reading... “Portland Anthem”

New Music Video by Portland’s Day 1000 Films Premiers on Britain’s NME.com

“C’mon Doll” by Seattle’s My Goodness was shot in the Historic Bob White Theater and Academy Theater in SE Portland with the band footage shot in a barn in Scappoose. This is the Second music video in a month by Portland’s Day 1000 Films with a third to be released in May as well as two short films, “The Last 8” and “The Happy Machine”. The video was made to promote the new single in support of the band’s May tour through Europe opening for “We Are Augustines”. Day 1000 Films Presents: The 2nd Annual Music Video Showcase

Day 1000 Films presents The 2nd Annual Music Video Showcase in Portland! Just like last year, we will be having the showcase at The Knife Shop within Kelly’s Olympian downtown at 4th and Washington on Sunday, MARCH 25th. The doors will open at 7:00pm and the music videos will start at 8:00pm – $3 at the door. From now until March 19th we will be accepting submissions of YOUR music videos. Eastern Oregon Film Festival Releases Music Program for October’s 3rd Annual Festival

EOFF2011 releases headlining musicians to accompany 3 nights of independent cinema in Eastern Oregon. The 2011 Eastern Oregon Film Festival will be held on October 20th – October 22nd in historic downtown La Grande, Oregon.  The three day event features award winning independent cinema and hottest up and coming bands from the northwest.

The Decemberists’ most recent music video to the track “Calamity Song” off The King Is Dead album made its worldwide debut this morning and is already getting plenty of acclaim from music fans and the press alike.
