Now Screaming… er, Now Streaming! Southern Oregon’s Killer Valley Horror Film Festival has launched its 14th year of celebrating independent filmmakers in the horror film genre this October. Eastern Oregon Film Festival – October 21-23

The Eastern Oregon Film Festival will celebrate its twelfth year of programming independent cinema in La Grande, Oregon on October 21-23. The festival will present 52 films over the course of the three days, both in-person and also via a virtual streaming platform.  The official selections were announced on August 15th, and include 12 Feature-length films and 40 shorts in a variety of styles, formats, forms, and content. BendFilm Announces Short Films Curated for 18th Annual BendFilm Festival

BendFilm announced today the 75 short films selected to screen during the 18th annual BendFilm Festival running October 7 – 17, 2021.

New this year, BendFilm Festival is now recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences® as one of 64 film festivals in the world (27 festivals in the USA) that is Oscar® qualifying for short films. Following the festival, BendFilm will submit the winning shorts in the following categories to be considered for Oscar® nominations: Best Narrative Short, Best Animated Short, and Best Indigenous Short. EOFF Announces 2021 Festival Line-up

Eastern Oregon Film Festival will be celebrating its twelfth year of independent film and music programming in and from La Grande, Oregon on October 21-23, 2021.

This year’s submission process saw a record number of submissions, of which 52 films were selected for exhibition. Filmmakers whose work was selected are invited to La Grande to celebrate with the EOFF community, connect with other artists, and represent their work in-person. Ashland Independent Film Festival Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With A Live & Outdoor Festival June 24-28th


Ashland, Oregon – The Ashland Independent Film Festival is excited to announce the full selection of musical and cinematic events scheduled for its live & outdoor festival running June 24-28 at venues in Ashland and Medford.

At Scienceworks Hands-On Museum, viewers will watch films projected on a large outdoor screen in the field facing the building. At the Walkabout Brewing Company in Medford, viewers will fill the spacious backyard, facing the big screen and stage. Each screening at these two venues will be accompanied by live musical performers, food carts and beverages. A bunch of broke nobodies making a film in rural Oregon isn’t an easy proposition…

Sometime in 2016 I spoke to a group of confidants about making a movie on the sly. The plan was to keep expectations low and develop something we could be proud of but not, per se, something that should or would be released. I was at a pretty low place at the time, honestly. My previous filmmaking endeavors hadn’t exactly set the world on fire and I was now a parent supporting himself and family with manual labor jobs and barely scraping by.
