WIF-PDX are excited to announce the 2024 Vision Grant! This year WIF-PDX will be awarding two filmmakers $5,000 each for their narrative or documentary short film in post-production.
The Vision Grant, now in its 12th year, has been a cornerstone of Women in Film PDX’s mission to foster creativity, innovation, and inclusivity within the film community. The grant is designed to provide financial support to emerging female and nonbinary filmmakers in the Portland Metro area, enabling them to bring their unique visions to the screen and contribute their diverse voices to the world of cinema. Oregon Film and the #OregonMade Creative Foundation are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Tell Your Story Grant. This grant program seeks to directly support the individual filmmaker and artist and is not directly linked to a specific project. It’s official: Southern Oregon University’s Digital Cinema program makes SOU one of the best film schools in North America. The current edition of MovieMaker magazine, which bills itself as the world’s most widely read independent film magazine, includes SOU among its picks for the “30 Best Film Schools in the U.S. & Canada.”

The Portland Events and Film Office, in partnership with Travel Portland, is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Post Production Grant to five feature films. The funding is designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length film and position local producers to build toward larger, more resourced productions. Past recipients of the Post-Production Grant have included “Nora” by Anna Campbell and Dawn Redstone Jones’ “Mother of Color,” the latter picked up by Amazon Prime Studios for worldwide streaming distribution.

Netflix has just closed a deal in the $17 million range for worldwide rights to It’s What’s Inside, the thriller written and directed by Greg Jardin that has been one of the Sundance Film Festival’s buzziest titles. It’s the second 8-figure deal of Sundance, after the Jesse Eisenberg-directed A Real Pain sold to Searchlight for $10 million. Both those deals were brokered by CAA.
