The new #OregonMade Film History Mural and Poster Exhibit is located in the Portland International Airport’s south pedestrian tunnel which connects the parking garage to the terminal (underground between baggage claims 3 and 4.) It provides travelers with over 160 uninterrupted feet ofmural art and posters, representing a small collection of Oregon’s rich film hist ory. By creating this exhibit, we hope to aptly celebrate the unique and varied locations Oregon has to offer, the projects that have called Oregon home over the years, and the professional production communities that come together to make Oregon so film-friendly. Koerner Camera Systems in Portland, Oregon hosted the 2nd annual Pacific Northwest Lens Summit on the first Saturday in May. About 250 people came to see lenses, filters, FIZ controllers and focusing aids, anamorphics and adapters, gimbals, cameras, and camera robots presented by thirty different exhibitors.
The next installment of the #OregonMade Film Series celebrating 50 years of Oregon Film, is a tribute to Miloš Forman (1932-2018), with a 35mm print of his 1975 masterpiece “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
Based on the novel by Ken Kesey and adapted by Bo Goldman and Lawrence Hauben, Producers Michael Douglas and Saul Zaentz put together a cast for the Salem shot film that was unknown at the time (even, to some extent, Jack Nicholson) but all went on to have incredible careers – Michael Berryman, Scatman Crothers, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Vincent Schiavelli, Brad Dourif and Oscar winner (alongside Nicholson, Forman, Goldman, Hauben, Douglas and Zaentz) Louise Fletcher, to name just a few.
