Season 3 of “Leverage” premieres this Sunday on TNT with a 2 hour premiere episode. Ever find yourself pining for the days of F.W. Murnau and D.W. Griffith? This week at the Hollywood Theater in Portland, young film makers from around the Pacific Northwest celebrated the 100th anniversary of the “Mighty Wurlitzer” theater organ by producing over 50 silent film shorts. The theater organ’s squealing melodies provided more than just an accompaniment –students based their videos on one of several 3-minute scores composed by organist Nathan Avakian. June 7th, 2010 marked the 25th Anniversary of the 80s cult classic film, “The Goonies,” and fans of the film descended upon Astoria, Oregon in droves this past weekend to celebrate. Yogi Bearshot and completed filming on this live action 3D animated film project in New Zealand earlier this year but production needed some further shots for the opening scenes. After scouting Oregon and a few other states, Silver Falls State Park was deemed dramatic and on a grand enough scale to easily portray Jellystone Park.
