Our Story:

In the backwoods of the old west, two brother outlaws (The Fairfield Boys), are hunted by a skilled bounty hunter out for his own kind of justice. Inescapably the brother’s lives are intertwined with two unsuspecting runaways, changing all of their lives forever. Winter Season Grant – “Wish You Were Here” – Blue Chalk Media

Blue Chalk Media were the winners the 2019 $15,000 “Winter Season Grant” – provided by the OregonMade Creative Foundation and Travel Oregon – and have now successfully created two short films of “moving postcard stories” based on the brief to make a film series that would “captivate and encourage people to experience the winter season for themselves.”

First Look At Disney’s #OregonMade, “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made”

Disney’s first look trailer is now out showcasing their latest feature, shot partly in the Portland Metro area last year, “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made.” The film will begin streaming on Disney + February 7th. Timmy and his polar-bear partner, Total, start a detective agency to solve neighborhood crime – adapted from the children’s best selling series written by Stephan Pastis.

Spotlight On Scott Vanderpool – Welding Design & Fabrication Specialist

Scott Vanderpool, welding design and fabrication specialist for Portland Parks & Recreation and owner of Iron Stone Forge, LLC, has been designing and fabricating for business and pleasure in Portland for many years.  “I prefer to do artwork and technical/precision fabrications but I bring the artistic side whenever I can. #OregonMade “Dr. Giggles” Halloween Screening

The day before Halloween brings the next installment of the #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre, and it’s gonna be a good one. Dark Horse Entertainment’s 1992 film: “Dr. Giggles.”

Larry Drake plays the eponymous title character as the crazy son of a crazy heart surgeon who seeks revenge on the small town that killed his dad. Dr. Giggles doesn’t discriminate, and kills teenagers, cops, old lady busybodies, and anyone else who gets in his way.

Portland Art Museum and Northwest Film Center Announce New Northwest Film Center Director and Curator

The Portland Art Museum and Northwest Film Center are pleased to announce that Amy Dotson will be the next director of the Northwest Film Center. Dotson comes to the Film Center from the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the oldest and largest organization in the United States championing the future of storytelling on all platforms, where she served as the Deputy Director & Head of Programming for over 13 years.

My name is Janet Weiss and I live a double life. A Portland, OR resident since 1989, I moved here from the Bay Area to play music and to take advantage of cheap rent and basements in which to practice. I’ve been the drummer in Sleater-Kinney and Quasi ever since (amongst others). Ten years ago I got myself an amazing day job… Location Manager!
