The Northwest Film Center announces PIFF 2.0, reimagining the final days of the 43rd Portland International Film Festival.
From October 1 to 3, 2020, PIFF 2.0 will present 10 films, talks, and happy hours from Northwest and International filmmakers, offered in virtual screening and events as well as new additions to the Film Center’s popular Cinema Unbound Drive-In series.

In the evening of Tuesday, September 8, 2020, a fast moving wildfire swept through the town of Phoenix, Oregon burning hundreds of homes and businesses, leaving almost the entire town flattened.
This is an especially monumental blow to the filmmaking team behind the 2020 theatrically-released comedy “Phoenix, Oregon”. Not only is the film named after the town, but several crew and family members of the producers lost homes.

The Oregon Film Trail sign was installed last week at Silver Falls State Park, and it celebrates the starring role the park played as a location in Twilight among other films. This is the 15th sign on the Oregon Film Trail, it was installed at the Howard Creek Trailhead parking lot near the campground within the Park.
The Northwest Film Center and Portland Art Museum have been announced as the exclusive U.S. partner for the Virtual Reality (VR) arm of the Venice Biennale through its Venice VR Expanded 2020 programming. #OregonMade Netflix film, “All Together Now” released its official trailer for this YA drama that is set to air on August 28th. Starring, Auli’i Cravalho (“Moana”), Rhenzy Feliz, Carol Burnett, and Fred Armisen, this project filmed all over Portland and of course hired an Oregon crew. “All Together Now” is based upon the novel, “Sorta Like a Rockstar,” by Matthew Quick, (who also wrote the novel, “Silver Linings Playbook” and who also took on the initial adaptation of “All Together Now”) the screenplay was directed and co-written by Brett Haley (“Hearts Beat Loud”, “I’ll See You In My Dreams”) and Marc Basch co-wrote.
