Oregon made feature film Cell Count now available on VOD.

PORTLAND, Oregon (December 20th, 2012)  The feature film “Cell Count” made it’s World Premiere at this year’s Fantaspoa Film Festival in Brazil on May 20th.  Since then it has gone to the Macabro Film Festival in Mexico, the Montreal HorrorFest in Canada, Sitges Film Festival in Spain, Rojo Sangre Film Festival in Argentina, Montevideo Fantastico Film Festival in Uruguay, Another Hole in the Head Film Festival in the USA, and Celluloid Screams in the UK.  Director Todd E. Portland Represents at Art Basel Miami

From December 6th  – 9th, Kimberly Warner’s short film ‘CPR’, will be representing Portland at Art Basel Miami.

CPR, written and directed by Portland’s Kimberly Warner and co-produced by Kimberly and Matt Schulte, will be part of a program called “LIght Assembly”…the goal of Light Assembly is “to combine large-scale video art projection with the citywide canvas of Miami Beach and mainland Miami’s modern architectural marvels and historic landmarks”.

Starting Dec. 6th, and through Dec. 9th, the film will be projected onto the outside of the Art Deco Welcome Building in Miami Beach, 24 hours a day. Continue reading... “Portland Represents at Art Basel Miami”

2013 OpenLens Festival Deadline – December 7th

(Eugene, OR) The deadline nears for submitting entries in the 2013 OpenLens Festival hosted by the Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA) in Eugene. The Festival seeks submissions by Oregon filmmakers for its ninth annual celebration of the short film genre to be held on Saturday January 26th, 2013.  Prizes include: $500 Jury Award, $200 Jury Honorable Mention, and $100 Audience Choice Award. Oregon Film Veterans Mentoring Graduating U of O Filmmakers Wins Award

Oregon Film Veterans Katherine Wilson and Philip Krysl (with over 40 years as Oregon filmmakers and 50 Oregon Film Credits between them) mentored 10 students this last year from the U of O into the industry by helping the students produce the couples’ screenplay “Animal House of Blues”. The collaboration with the students began small as a short for credit in a NW Film Class, which then resulted in final projects and Career Center and Journalism Internships. Not wanting to stop there, Student Director/ Cinematographer/ Editor Jay Richardson was supported by the whole group of students from several classes over the summer to create a feature length Documentary and entered the Eugene International Film Festival August 17th, the day summer school ended.
