Colour Box Makeup Studios founder Kerry Herta returns to Portland Aug. 31-Sept. 5 to teach aspiring makeup artists the latest techniques used in the entertainment and beauty industries.
Herta, a 2011 Daytime Emmy nominee, previously taught her signature workshops – the five-day Makeup Artist Boot Camp and one-day Airbrush Seminar – in Portland in June. The new dates will accommodate the growing waiting list of artists who couldn’t enroll in the last class.

MAIN CAST OF SUPERNATURAL THRILLER “NIGHTSCAPE” ANNOUNCED
Portland, Oregon—Writer-director David W. Edwards announced the main cast for his first feature film, Nightscape. The film stars, in alphabetical order: Emily Galesh, LaVerne Green, Joshua St. James and Jorge Madrid. The film shoots later this month in and around Portland.
In Nightscape, an emotionally guarded drifter, Kat (Galesh), crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. The drifter must learn to trust again if she is to end a lifetime of bad luck and to help her newfound companions survive the growing chaos and carnage. Breckenridge Festival of Film recognizes local filmmaker’s doc ‘Patrick’s Story’
Another Oregon documentary is making waves on the film-festival circuit.
Martin Vavra’s doc “Patrick’s Story” has been accepted into Colorado’s Breckenridge Festival of Film.
“Patrick’s Story” follows a gay man, Patrick, who was removed from a Portland hospital as his partner lay dying.

After 5 Months of Filming, Eastern Oregon University’s First Feature-Length Film Now Enters the Editing Stage.
The cast and crew of EOU’s first feature-length film called it a wrap after five months of intensive and involved filming. The Glass Menagerie, a 92-minute movie based on the famous play by Tennessee Williams and adapted into a film by Professor April Curtis, is now ready for the final concentrated effort of computer technology, voice-over work and musical theme music composed by Biology Professor John Rinehart. Local comedy “John Gets Wasted” will debut at the Hollywood Theatre on May 28th at 7:00pm. The movie follows the story of a man who lost his job in the recession. Deciding his straight-laced behavior did him no good at all, John launches on a journey of vice and bad decisions. At the end of the day, will he find a new outlook on life, or will he just get wasted?
