Oregon’s International Bohemian Film Festival Announces ‘Big Sonia’ as Grand Prize Winner

The winning filmmaker, Leah Warshawski and her Oregon-raised animator, Dawn Norton, received a $3,000 grand prize as the Best Film. The winner aims to take the proceeds to launch high school curricula about overcoming the obstacles of our past and becoming stronger.

COTTAGE GROVE, ORE., 18 AUGUST 2018 – “Big Sonia” won the overall $3,000 Grand Prize at this weekend’s inaugural Bohemian Film Festival. Revolution Film Group Signs Multiple Picture Deal

Portland based Revolution Film Group, LLC, a division of Hydra Entertainment has just signed finance and distribution deals with Chasing Butterflies Pictures and Origin Releasing for the production of six features in 2016. The multi-picture deal, brokered at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California, this past November, represents a nearly $4 million investment in original Oregon productions. Some of the films will be co-produced by Oregon based Justice Pictures for the faith market.

“Out Of The Darkness” Feature Production Begins

Out Of The Darkness, Day OneOctober 8, 2015 (Portland, Oregon) In the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland, the first day of production was conducted of the locally produced feature length motion picture “Out Of The Darkness.” The four week production will be utilizing local crew and vendors, with local actors and some from outside the State. The cast includes, Adam Davis, John Lewis, Graham Greene, Michael Joiner, Sherry Morris, and Stephanie Landrum.  The film’s director is Shawn Justice, who grew up in North Portland with the film’s producer Sean Skelding.

Local Film “Reconciler” Gets International & Domestic Distribution

The ReconcilerThe feature length motion picture Reconciler is on its way to Cannes! Produced and distributed by native Northwest companies, the feature film Reconciler has been picked up for international distribution and will be showcased this week at the internationally renowned Festival de Cannes, by Black Wolf Media. Reconciler was produced in Oregon by Justice Pictures, in association with IMD Films — both native Northwest companies.
