Our mission is to help girls 15-19 realize their power, creativity and voice in media production and encourage them to explore opportunities as future media-makers. CITIZENFOUR is a real life thriller, unfolding by the minute, giving audiences unprecedented access to filmmaker Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald’s encounters with Edward Snowden in Hong Kong, as he hands over classified documents providing evidence of mass indiscriminate and illegal invasions of privacy by the National Security Agency (NSA).
POWFest will host POWGirls in 2015, a unique partnership program with MetroEast Community Media, specifically designed for girls ages 15-18. Over the course of four days in January, a group of selected girls will develop, produce, edit and present a film during the Youth Shorts program at the POWFest March 12-15, 2015.

Portland filmmaker Jackie Weissman is excited to announce the Portland preview of her documentary ROCK N ROLL MAMAS next month on Thursday March 7, 2013 on the opening night of The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POWFest).
ROCK N ROLL MAMAS is a 60 minute documentary about three indie rockers who strive to follow their creative dreams and raise their children.
