Magenta Light Studios will be giving Strange Darling a wide theatrical release in the United States on August 23rd – and a new trailer for the film has arrived online, along with a pair of posters.
Shot in Oregon last year, “Strange Darling” was written and directed by J.T. Mollner (Outlaws and Angels) and was produced by former Miramax CEO Bill Block, Chris Ivan Cevic, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, and actor Giovanni Ribisi, who also served as the director of photography. Each year, Oregon Film and the Oregon Department of Revenue auction off $20M of Oregon state tax credits in $500 increments at a minimum bid of 90% of face value. Mountainfilm Commitment Grants
This year we are offering a total of $60,000 in grants to filmmakers, with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $1,000. The Commitment Grant supports documentary filmmakers in the production or post-production stages. We are looking for non-fiction stories celebrating adventure, activism, social justice, culture, the environment, and indomitable spirit. Filmmakers from any country are welcome to apply. WIF-PDX are excited to announce the 2024 Vision Grant! This year WIF-PDX will be awarding two filmmakers $5,000 each for their narrative or documentary short film in post-production.
The Vision Grant, now in its 12th year, has been a cornerstone of Women in Film PDX’s mission to foster creativity, innovation, and inclusivity within the film community.
