Ashland Independent Film Festival A Success

The 14th annual Ashland Independent Film Festival took place over the week end in southern Oregon.  AIF gives special focus to small independent features and shorts and always includes Oregon projects.

During the 5 days of screenings and events, 97 films were presented, as well as many workshops, Q-and-A’s and “talk-back” sessions.  All of the screenings were well attended at this packed festival.

Further Details of AIFF’s eMerge Transmedia Showcase Announced

The AIFF branches out with exciting new programming to add to our audience’s festival experience with the eMerge Transmedia Showcase. Created to showcase new forms of digital and interactive storytelling, the program has been developed in collaboration with Southern Oregon University’s Emerging Media and Digital Arts (EMDA) program.  Below is more details on this year’s program events.  Sponsors of eMerge this year include The Governor’s Office of Film and Television, Project A, Second Story, the Portland Incubator Experiment, and the Technology Association of Oregon. Ashland Independent Film Festival – Redwood Highway to Premiere at Festival

With AIFF just a little more than one month away, we wanted to update you on some new info.  A full schedule of events should be up on AIFF’s website in a few weeks but here’s what has been announced to date.

Ashland Independent Film Festival announces eMerge Transmedia Showcase for the 2013 Festival

Ashland, Ore.—The Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) today announced a multi-part transmedia showcase to be unveiled as part of the 12th annual festival, April 4 – 8, 2013 in Ashland. Created to showcase new forms of digital and interactive storytelling, the program has been developed in collaboration with Southern Oregon University’s Emerging Media and Digital Arts (EMDA) program, and is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Film and Television, Project A, the Portland Incubator Experiment (P.I.E.), and Second Story Interactive Studios. Great Film Festival Programming in Ashland and Eugene Coming in April

Once again in April Oregon is home to a series of great film festivals in consecutive weeks.  The eleventh annual Ashland Independent Film Festival is happening April 12-16. This year the festival is honoring acclaimed director Julie Taymor.  With Ms. Taymor’s experience in both live theater and film, it makes perfect sense that Oregon Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Bill Rauch will join Ms. Taymor on stage for a certain lively and engaging discussion.  Other filmmakers expected to be in attendance include documentarian Ondi Timor and director Lynn Shelton.  Continue reading... “Great Film Festival Programming in Ashland and Eugene Coming in April”

Film Festivals coming to Oregon

Oregon is host to two very exciting film festivals coming soon to Ashland Oregon as well as Eugene Oregon.
