You probably already know about our upcoming screening of Raquel Welch in #OregonMade “Kansas City Bomber” (and, if you don’t, you should), but did you also know that KCB played a part in launching one of Portland’s most iconic sports teams? That’s right – the incomparable Rose City Rollers. And they are now partnering with us to present the film on April 1 at The Hollywood Theatre.
Has there ever been a cohesive Loop (ADR) Group in the Pacific Northwest? I couldn’t find one, so when I moved back to Portland from LA to raise my kid, it was time to build one. Throughout 2018, we trained, rehearsed, and even worked on a few great local projects.
The OR Doc Camp Fellowships will be awarded to established documentary filmmakers from Oregon from under-represented backgrounds. Winners of the fellowship will receive room, board and travel expenses from Portland for the 4-day Doc Camp experience and a 30 minute private session with one of our attending documentary consultants. We can’t attest to either our screen presence or our photogenic-ness, but we do hope that the information contained within is helpful. This year, the event is open to all local union members and supporters, and is doubling as a fundraiser for local SAG-AFTRA president Robert Blanche, who’s fighting for his life after a double lung transplant.
