Portland Feature Film “Cell Count” has World Premiere and closes the Fantaspoa Film Festival in Porto Alegre Brazil.

PORTLAND, Oregon (March 05, 2012) – The Fantaspoa Film Festival announced today that the Portland feature film “Cell Count,” made by Polluted Pictures in association with Wooden Frame Productions, is the Closing Night Film at their Festival in May. Last year’s Closing Night Film, “Stakeland”, was later released in theaters in 2011 by IFC Films and Dark Sky Films.
Cell Count was the third of three feature films shot in 2011 from Wooden Frame Productions that utilized the Oregon state iOPIF rebate program which provides rebates of 20% of goods and services and 10% of Oregon labor for films produced by Oregon filmmakers who spend a minimum of $75,000 but not more than $750,000 on their project. The new seats have been installed in the main auditorium of the Hollywood Theatre! We’ve also repainted, and replaced the curtains in the theater. These changes are in addition to our new sound system and new screen. A huge thanks to everyone who supported our seat campaign! We never could have accomplished this without you.

It doesn’t take long to notice in the trailer that “Gone” was shot in Oregon (lot’s of Portland Police cars). The film was shot here last spring right after the production of the pilot for “Grimm”. From everything we heard, the production went very smoothly. If you’re familiar with Portland at all you’ll notice some familiar locations. Several scenes were shot in the industrial part of inner SE Portland just a few blocks from our office. I am very excited to extend a special invitation to the private, one time screening of the feature film, “Population: 2”. The screening will take place on Thursday, December 8th, 7:30p.m. (theater doors open at 6pm) at the Baghdad Theater in Portland Oregon. I was a writer and producer on the film, and had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Kenneth Luba of golightlyfilms as Director of Photography and Gil Luna of Moon Tribe Studios as writer/director.
