
During an extensive tour throughout Oregon, Southern Oregon shot “Above the Trees,” the 5th movie produced by local filmmakers Joma Films (who made
Phoenix, Oregon, Calvin Marshall, and
Redwood Highway), screens for one night only at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland this Wednesday May 22 at 7pm.
The filmmakers, director Gary Lundgren and producer Annie Lundgren, will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.

The Portland Events and Film Office, in partnership with Travel Portland, is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Post Production Grant to five feature films. The funding is designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length film and position local producers to build toward larger, more resourced productions. Past recipients of the Post-Production Grant have included “Nora” by Anna Campbell and Dawn Redstone Jones’ “Mother of Color,” the latter picked up by Amazon Prime Studios for worldwide streaming distribution.

To be considered for screening at the Hollywood Theatre @ PDX, all submissions must meet the following criteria:
- Must be created by a local/regional artist or concern issues relating to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest
- Must be appropriate for a general audience (G-rated).

#OregonMade and Southern Oregon produced “Above The Trees” will premiere May 10, 2024 at the Varsity theatre in Ashland before taking a small tour around the state with a series of in-person screenings followed by a Q&A with the filmmaking team. “Above the Trees” is the new film from Joma Films who previously produced other #OregonMade features like “Phoenix, Oregon,” “Black Road,” “Redwood Highway” and “Calvin Marshall.”
