Eastern Oregon Film Festival will be celebrating its thirteenth year of independent film, music, and conversation in La Grande and has released the Official Selections for #EOFF2022. The Festival opens Thursday, October 20 and runs through late Saturday Evening, October 22.
This year’s call for entries saw a record number of submissions, of which 33 films were selected for physical and virtual exhibition. Filmmakers whose work has been selected are invited to La Grande to celebrate with the EOFF community, connect with other artists, and represent their work in-person. BendFilm announced today the 20 feature films in competition categories from the 19th annual BendFilm Festival running October 6 – 23, 2022. Many filmmakers and producers are scheduled to attend the festival to host post-film discussions, participate in panels and enjoy Bend’s scenic beauty. BendFilm Festival is recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences® as Oscar® qualifying for narrative, animated and indigenous short films.

With editor Enie Vaisburd (Pacific University), Ellen Thomas (Educational Director PAMCut) co-lead the Portland creative team which just completed experimental filmmaker, Bushra Azzouz’s new feature documentary, A Midsummer Night’s Dream In Prison. The film is about a group of inmates at the Two Rivers Correctional Facility in Umatilla who put on a Shakespeare play and, in the process, reimagine their lives.

Next up at our #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre is Spirit Award winning “Mean Creek.” The screening is August 17 at 730p. Writer/Director Jacob Estes and Producer Susan Johnson will be in attendance for a Q+A after the film and we will be screening their personal 35mm print. This screening is free to all Hollywood Theatre members.

Nathan Fielder’s long-awaited next project, The Rehearsal, is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max, July 15th. This six-episode show marks Fielder’s return to television.
