The Oregon Film Impact Grants are designed to support filmmakers and projects that have the potential to make a positive and lasting impact on Oregon’s film industry.
There will be two submission phases for these grants. The first will be for short film projects (running time less than 40 mins) while the second will be for feature length projects. In partnership with Travel Portland, the Office of Events & Film at Prosper Portland is excited to offer a grant opportunity for Portland-based independent film productions to support and offset the cost of the post-production process. Funding is designed to encourage the completion of local feature-length films and position local producers to build toward larger, more resourced productions.
Grant applications open on Wednesday, March 26. This year, grants of $8,500 each will be awarded.

After a successful weekend for the festival, MSFF announced the winners of the first ever PNW Indigenous Filmmaker Grant this weekend. The Directing team of Olivia Camfield & Woodrow Hunt won the $10,000 grant offered in collaboration with Oregon Film’s Creative Opportunity Program. The grant will help the talented pair to create a piece that will premiere at next year’s MSFF.

Travel Oregon recently highlighted a short doc that was funded as part of the Outdoor Adventure Film Grant awarded by both Travel Oregon and Oregon Film. The film, directed by Portlander Devin Boss, highlights friends’ Oregon Coast journey to experience nature and leave anxiety behind.
Devin Boss recalls watching the waves crash against the rocks at Thor’s Well on his recent Oregon Coast road trip with friends. “It’s probably like in the top five things I’ve ever witnessed in nature,” he says of the natural attraction in Yachats, just down the path from Cape Perpetua Visitors Center. In partnership with Travel Portland the Portland Events and Film Office announced today the three recipients of the 2024 Amplify Portland grant. This grant was created to uplift filmmakers who use local talent, crews and vendors – building opportunities for professional growth and bringing exposure to Portland through unique, diverse storytelling both on screen and behind the scenes.

BendFilm’s Black, Indigenous, Person of Color (BIPOC) Women Filmmaking Grant will support a woman BIPOC artist with $10,000 toward making their short or feature film. The grant supports storytellers who are working to tell creative and complex stories told from a point of view that is unique and authentic.
On-screen representation affects cultural understanding of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ characters. Barriers need to be broken down until equal representation is achieved on-screen and behind the camera.
