“Inward” w/ Michi Meko & Chad Brown

On November 21 PAM CUT’s Tomorrow Theater presents a screening and an event featuring Portland-based environmental activist, documentarian, and non-profit founder, Chad Brown and the Portland premiere of his gorgeous short film Inward about renowned painter and explorer Michi Meko, who will be in attendance for this special screening.

A self-described explorer, cartographer, and abstractionist, Michi’s work seeks to capture the wild beauty of nature through the eyes of a “lone black man reporting back from the new world.” There will be a post-film discussion with Chad and Michi moderated by a special guest. The November 7th celebration will feature our best work yet (again), which we couldn’t do without your support!

The lineup includes “American Teenager,” a slice of life drama about a girl living in a motel and “The Spot,” a comedy about young people crammed into their first apartment. Reel Ambitions will also premiere “My Shoes,” a music video by OTF alumnus Talilo Marfil featuring legendary indie rapper Tech N9ne. The 21st Annual Bend Film Festival in 2024 comes to Bend October 10 through 13, 2024. Screen over 100 films from the Tower Theatre to Madras and join 125 filmmakers from all over the country.

Finding Space for Independent Cinema

When my husband Davon and I started production on our film, A Public Space, we had little idea of what to expect. The film centers on the fate of the now defunct College Hill Reservoir in Eugene, Oregon, and explores the larger significance of public space. While Davon is an accomplished editor, this was our first filmmaking collaboration, and although we deeply believed in the idea, we weren’t sure how it would be received in the community.

RISE: Community Cinema Showcase

KIFF2024: 12th Annual Klamath Independent Film Festival

The Klamath Independent Film Festival continues its run as the leading all-genre, Oregon-centric film festival, presented for the fifth year both in-person and on-demand/livestreaming!

For the 2024 rendition we continue to showcase the best in independent Oregon filmmaking at the historic Ross Ragland Theater. We plan to continue our hybrid online festival presentation and opening night gala honoring one iconic Made-in-Oregon film. The ever-popular custom awards designed by local artists in the Southern Cascade Woodcrafters Guild will also return in 2024, and the second year of the prestigious James Ivory Award for career achievement in film with Oregon roots.
