Every year, the union performers in the Portland SAG-AFTRA local gather at the Lake Theater in Lake Oswego to watch their union’s televised annual awards event. This year, the event is open to all local union members and supporters, and is doubling as a fundraiser for local SAG-AFTRA president Robert Blanche, who’s fighting for his life after a double lung transplant. Environmental films will be eligible for the Recology Award. All Official Selections will be eligible for the Grand Jury Prize which includes a $500 cash award as well as a trophy!

The Portland Film Office, in partnership with the Oregon Made Creative Foundation, has announced the recipients of its first Portland Post Production Grant Program. Selected from a pool of twenty applicants, four local filmmakers will receive $5,000 for their respective projects.
The grant program is intended to support the professional development of local Portland filmmakers by providing funds for such activities as sound, picture editing, color matching, color grading, closed caption, tech specs for distributors, and music clearances using local post-production houses. The Oregon Department of Revenue will be holding another auction for approximately $1M in tax credits for the 2018-19 Oregon Production Investment Fund (“OPIF”). The auction will be held for 3 days only from Wednesday to Friday, December 5-7, 2018. The credits will be sold in $500 increments and the minimum bid will be 95% of face value (i.e. $475 for a $500 credit). Multiple increments can be purchased.
