KATU Covers the PDX Oregon Film History Mural

KATU recently ran a story, in conjunction with their coverage around the Oscars, that featured artist Nick Stokes and the massive, magnificent mural he created that celebrates 100 years of Oregon Filmmaking. The mural contains more than 100 “easter eggs” that call out specific titles to many #OregonMade films.

#OregonMade “Wishful Thinking” Garners Great Reviews at SXSW

The Portland shot, Maya Hawke and Lewis Pullman starring feature, “Wishful Thinking” has had a successful festival opening at Austin’s SXSW.

Reviewer Angie Han wrote in the Hollywood Reporter: “Maya Hawke and Lewis Pullman Conjure Fireworks in a Sharp and Playful High-Concept Romance.

Graham Parkes’ directorial debut, premiering at SXSW, centers on a bickering couple whose karmic energy has the ability to trigger storms, stock market bounces and more.”

Portland 48 Hour Film Project Returns

The second annual Portland 48 Horror/Sci-Fi Competition is getting ready for blast-off and it’s going to be out of this world!

On April 24-26 Portland filmmakers will have the chance to boldly go where no filmmakers have gone before…the Portland 48HFP Horror & Sci Fi Zone! Choosing from such sci fi & horror genres as Time Travel, Demonic Possession, Alien Invasion, Slasher, and many more as they race the clock to complete their films in 48 hours!

All films will be premiered at the beautiful and historic Hollywood Theatre the following week!

The Bridge: From Oregon to Industry – Filmmaker Workshop Coming in May

Mayor Keith Wilson is proud to announce that Portland will host The Bridge: From Oregon to Industry, a new filmmaker workshop, with the Sundance Institute this May. The in-person intensive program, run by the Portland Events and Film Office at Prosper Portland and Oregon Film, will bring filmmakers across Oregon together with national and internationally recognized experts from Friday, May 8, to Sunday, May 10. Sundance Collab, Sundance Institute’s world-renowned online learning program, will host an online portion of the program.
