“The Plan” Begins Production in Southern Oregon

Tuesday was the first day of production for an independent film being shot in southern Oregon.

Described as “Driving Miss Daisy” meets “Reservoir Dogs,” the 75-minute feature film, “The Plan” follows an Uber ride from Sacramento to Josephine County with unexpected consequences.

The film, directed by Brad Douglas, will be shot entirely in southern Oregon and features Los Angeles Comedian and Actor Henry Coleman, local Actress Marlyn Mason, and Oscar winning Special Effects Artist Jeff Dawn.

BendFilm Announces: Basecamp

BendFilm, the nonprofit independent cinema organization, today announced BendFilm: Basecamp, a three-day immersive retreat for emerging creatives and their industry counterparts to connect, learn and collaborate. #OregonMade “Above the Trees” Comes to Portland

During an extensive tour throughout Oregon, Southern Oregon shot “Above the Trees,” the 5th movie produced by local filmmakers Joma Films (who made Phoenix, Oregon, Calvin Marshall, and Redwood Highway), screens for one night only at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland this Wednesday May 22 at 7pm.
The filmmakers, director Gary Lundgren and producer Annie Lundgren, will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.

#OregonMade “Lost Angel: The Genius of Judee Sill” Released April 12

The documentary co-directed by Portland based director Brian Lindstrom and Andy Brown is being released in theaters and on streaming platforms on April 12.

This is the never-before-told story of folk-rock icon Judee Sill, who in just two years went from living in a car to appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone. The documentary charts her troubled adolescence through her meteoric rise in the music world and early tragic death. Hollywood Theatre at PDX is Looking for #OregonMade Short Films

The Hollywood Theatre, Portland’s premiere modern-historic movie house, is looking for short films to be screened at their location in the PDX airport for our Summer 2024 program. If you or someone you know has a short film that fits the parameters presented below, consider submitting your film!

To be considered for screening at the Hollywood Theatre @ PDX, all submissions must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Must be created by a local/regional artist or concern issues relating to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest
  • Must be appropriate for a general audience (G-rated).

#OregonMade “Above the Trees” Premieres in Ashland on May 10

#OregonMade and Southern Oregon produced “Above The Trees” will premiere May 10, 2024 at the Varsity theatre in Ashland before taking a small tour around the state with a series of in-person screenings followed by a Q&A with the filmmaking team. “Above the Trees” is the new film from Joma Films who previously produced other #OregonMade features like “Phoenix, Oregon,” “Black Road,” “Redwood Highway” and “Calvin Marshall.”

#OregonMade “Lazareth” to be Released May 10

Ignore those skyline shots of a post apocalyptic Seattle because this one is #OregonMade.

“Lazareth” follows Lee (Ashley Judd), an aunt whose life mission is to protect her orphaned nieces, Imogen and Maeve, from a self-destructing world, raising them in isolation until an outsider threatens their peaceful existence.

Starring: Ashley Judd, Sarah Pidgeon, Katie Douglas, Edward Balaban, and Asher Angel. Directed by: Alec Tibaldi.

#OregonMade “New Life” Drops Trailer

A new feature film shot in Portland, Enterprise and the Wallowas opens in theaters and will be available on streaming platforms on May 3.

“New Life” tells the story of a mysterious woman on the run, and the resourceful fixer assigned to bring her in. Their two unique stories inextricably link, as the stakes of the pursuit rise to apocalyptic proportions.

The thriller stars Sonya Walger, Hayley Erin, and Tony Amendola. Written and directed by John Rosman.
