Creative Opportunity Grant Program – Call for Submissions

We are accepting proposals from partner organizations for projects to be considered for the next Creative Opportunity Program funding from Oregon Film through 5p September 1, 2023. If you run or are part of an media focused organization (non-profit, membership or public benefit entity) and have a program that you believe will be helpful to grow, educate, enlighten, train or otherwise benefit the film, television, animation, commercial, interactive or media community here in Oregon please send us your proposals.

Proposed projects should, ideally, take place during the Oct 1, 2023 to Sept 30, 2024 Fiscal Year. General festival sponsorship and individual short film or other “one-off” projects do not qualify for COP funding. Special projects and events focused on industry community building, training or education that are occurring at or by festivals with clear intent and outcomes may be considered.

Proposals should include detailed answers to the following questions:

  • What is your project? What are its processes, goals, target community, etc? What is the timeline?
  • Who will benefit from your project? Who is the community you are trying to reach/help/train/coordinate/etc.?
  • What are the expected outcomes from your project? How is success measured for your program and who will most benefit?
  • What is the cost of your project and what funding are you seeking from the Creative Opportunity Program?

Grants generally average from $2500 to $7500 and the proposal process is open to legally formed organizations (such as non-profits, membership or public benefit entities) and is not open to individuals. Grants for one-off filmic or interactive projects (such as a single short film, pilot or game) are not eligible for the Creative Opportunity Program. For a list of projects previously helped by the Program please go here.

Questions and proposals can be sent directly to [email protected] with “Creative Opportunity Program” and the title of your project in the subject line. Grants need to be expended and projects mostly completed between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. Proposals from all communities and regions of the state are encouraged.

The submission period closes at 5pm on Friday September 1, 2023.
