Tag! Queer Shorts Festival moves to the Clinton Street Theater on April 11-12 for its 2026 program, Get Up! In street art language, to “get up” is to get your unique designs out into public spaces; here it’s an invitation for LGBTQIA2S+ filmmakers and community members to be visible, creative, and maybe just a bit disruptive.
This year’s program offers four thematic blocks of curated shorts (39 in all) with Q&A time with directors. The festival opens with The Heaven Spot featuring an honest look at both affirming and disappointing interactions within queer spaces. The adults-only Get Up, Get Off! program marks the return of explicit content to the Tag! screen with a selection of decidedly non-binary romps. The Queer Styles program gives the audience a peek at the full range of genres submitted each year including animation, music video, spoken word, horror, comedy, and documentary. The festival ends with Tagging Cascadia, a celebration of films by Pacific Northwest directors and actors that includes some of Portland’s most prolific queer shorts creators.
Tag! Queer Shorts Festival is pleased to be sponsored by Portland Film & Events and supported by community award partners Milagro, Grand Gesture Books, and the Quest Center for Integrative Health.
