European Ecoprod and Film4Climate, joined forces, prior to COP21, to bring their collaboration to producers and crew members, in a one day workshop in Paris. In addition to offering Best Green Practices, and information on carbon free production to filmmakers, the workshop introduced other tools to help green production, many of them similar to the resources Oregon Film has highlighted for go-green shows here in our state. As the subject of climate change heats up, more and more production personnel are beginning to look at green options, especially if there is little, or no cost increase. These days, most studios in the US have a designated “Green” officer, taking various forms, that keep a sustainable eye on the green bottom line of shows on location, as well as studio-based production and overall efficiency. We have particularly noticed an up-tick in commercials that are opting to use a set greening company (such as EcoSet) to make sure they are making their Best Green Practices actually work on set.

Oregon has been a known leader in environmental initiatives since the 1970’s, well ahead of the sustainability curve. In keeping with this stewardship, the Governor’s Office of Film & Television has compiled resources for production companies that are interested in making more sustainable and earth-friendly choices, but may not have the time to do the research themselves.
Let us help you make your production greener, and in doing so, you can benefit the local community and the environment overall.
