On Tuesday, April 28, Oregon Film, Portland Development Commission, Oregon Storyboard, Intel and NWFilm teamed up with Girls Inc. to show the new feature documentary BIG DREAM to over 100 young women at the Whitsell Auditorium. Created by now Portland-based filmmakers Kelly Cox and Lucas Longacre, BIG DREAM follows seven young, female entrepreneurs as they try to make their own big dreams a reality – providing an amazing platform for discussion, insight and, most importantly inspiration for the young women who made up the audience. Director, Kelly Cox, and one of the film’s subjects, Bella Davenport, held an engaging Q&A and discussion after the screening, while a video and photography crew from Caitlin Gabel High School documented the entire event. The post discussion continued with Mayor Charlie Hales and Portland’s First Lady Nancy Hales at Elder Hall, thanks to Jason French for providing great food and Cooper Mountain for the the wine.
