Get the inside scoop on the indie film industry from a leading Hollywood executive and more than a dozen local experts when the 2012 NW Film Finance Symposium convenes on Friday, March 9, and Saturday, March 10.  Presented by OMPA and POWFest, this year’s event will feature Stephanie Slack, Senior Vice President, Co-Productions & Acquisitions for MarVista Entertainment in Los Angeles.

Part I: “Finance & Feature Distribution” (Friday, 9 am – noon: Downtown location to be announced.) General Session (Part 1)  will also include a round-table discussion with Nathaniel Applefield, AFTRA, Executive Director PNW; Eric Doebele & Matthew Wilson, Venture Capital; Jeffrey Hardy, FilmProfit; Katie O’Grady, Producer and Actor (‘Rid of Me’); Candice Jackson Esq., Entertainment Law; and Vince Porter, Governor’s Office of Film & Television.

Part II: “Digital Distribution & Marketing” (Saturday, 9 am – noon: Hollywood Theatre, NE Sandy Blvd.) General Session (Part 2) will have insights from panelists Paul Bernard, Producer  (‘Leverage’); Slater Dixon, MoPIX, Video App Marketplace; Nate DiNiro, Social Networking Strategist; Todd Freeman, Producer/Director (‘Cell Count’); Lyla Foggia, National Marketing/Publicity Consultant;  Alexander MacKenzie, Producer/Director (‘Dancing on the Edge’); and Tara Johnson-Medinger, Film Festivals.

“Community Conversation: The Way Forward!” We are asking feedback as OMPA develops more seminars on Financing, Marketing and Distribution in winter 2012-13.

2012 NW Film Finance Symposium is organized by producer and actor Christopher Toyne for OMPA and is also the moderator for both sessions.  Event sponsors include MarVista Entertainment and Gale Creek Insurance.

Also thanks to the independent producers who are investing of themselves to create new productions in our state.
