The application period for Mountainfilm’s Commitment Grant and Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship opens soon. We accept grant applications from August 14 to September 5, 2024.
Mountainfilm Commitment Grants
This year we are offering a total of $60,000 in grants to filmmakers, with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $1,000. The Commitment Grant supports documentary filmmakers in the production or post-production stages. We are looking for non-fiction stories celebrating adventure, activism, social justice, culture, the environment, and indomitable spirit. Filmmakers from any country are welcome to apply.
Mountainfilm Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship
Mountainfilm’s Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship provides support to early-career filmmakers, in the production or post-production stages of their first or second documentary. While applicants from any country are welcome, they must currently reside in the United States. The fellowship offers one filmmaker a cash award, plus a yearlong mentorship, including edit and story consultation, and networking opportunities. Additionally, the fellowship includes a trip to Telluride during the festival over Memorial Day weekend, covering travel, lodging, and a Mountainfilm pass.
