Portland based ad agency Weiden + Kennedy took home several awards at this year’s Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity. Most notably W+K won this year’s Advertising Agengy of the Year at the event. As reported in this week’s Oregonian,
Dan Wieden, co-founder and global executive creative director, also received the Lion of St. Mark award, given for “long and outstanding contribution to creativity and communications.”
W+K’s work with leading brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Old Spice and a host of others continues to lead the pack with innovative campaigns and engaging content. W+K doesn’t just look to help the big brands though as evidence with their work with Portland Public Schools. In June of this year W+K hosted “Hack for Portland Schools” which focused on coming up with new solutions to engage the Portland community and create more support for public schools. W+K is always looking for ways to stretch and grow as a creative company and every year they seem to meet that challenge. It will be interesting to see what the rest of this year and years to come will bring for W+K and as a result Oregon’s entire creative community.
