Brownsville, Oregon, will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the filming of the classic movie Stand By Me on July 24th, 2010.
In 1985, Brownsville was turned into a town named Castle Rock, and was teaming with film crews, actors and all the excitement of the movie making process. Today, the movie is still regarded as a favorite and is listed as one of the top 250 American films of all time. A classic movie based on a novella by Stephen King and released in 1986, Stand by Me is a worldwide favorite.
Join us for the Car Cruise In, Hot Wheels Races, Amateur Blueberry Pie Eating Contest, Street Dance with a Live Band, and finally, the movie in Pioneer Park. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends with the movie in the park.
