Women who migrated to this small town in the 1960s-80s candidly share stories about the power of courageous and creative world-building. Intimate portraits—both then and now—model living in hard times with hope, humor, and commitment to social change. The Amplify Portland: Local Filmmakers Production Grant aims to create opportunity for filmmakers utilizing local talent, crew and vendors during production. Our focus is on the professional development of the local industry and bringing exposure to Portland via its presence on screen.

The Indigenous Creative Stage Workers Alliance (ICSWA) Production Assistant Workshop will be held in Portland Oregon on Saturday November 8th from 1-3:30.
The Production Assistant Workshop offers a 1 day training to prepare participants for an entry level job in film & television. Job placement is also offered for graduates of this workshop. There will be a catered lunch provided for participants.

The #OregonMade film “Deafula”will screen at the Hollywood Theatre on October 4th and 5th at the Hollywood Theatre. “Deafula” is the first ASL feature film ever made and 2025 is its 50th anniversary.
The 50th anniversary of the first feature film performed completely in American Sign Language. “Deafula” was shot in Portland – including scenes at the Pittock Mansion – and tells the timeworn story of a man coming to realize he may, in fact, be a vampire.
