MILE 7 is a gritty psychological survival horror short film inspired by true events, written and developed by actor and filmmaker Sean Zerbe, with plans to shoot in Southern Oregon.
The story follows an experienced hiker whose peaceful overnight adventure spirals into a terrifying fight for survival when disturbing warnings and unsettling encounters reveal that he may not be alone.
For Zerbe, whose acting credits include The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, and Luc Besson’s June & John, the project brings together two passions: filmmaking and the outdoors. An accomplished ultramarathon runner and three-time Team USA obstacle course racing athlete, Zerbe draws from firsthand wilderness experiences to create a raw, grounded horror story.
“Southern Oregon has everything this film needs—breathtaking landscapes, isolation, and an incredible creative community. I want to make something genuinely terrifying while showcasing what independent filmmakers can accomplish right here in Oregon.”
With the screenplay complete, MILE 7 is officially in pre-production, and a crowdfunding campaign is underway to help bring the film to life.
We’re excited to connect with Oregon-based filmmakers, crew, producers, local businesses, and supporters who want to be part of the journey.
The story is ready. The wilderness is waiting. Let’s make something unforgettable.
