Union Film Crew Work: No More Mysteries

IATSE Local 488 is hosting a free class about demystifying our union and union film crew work on June 1. Please share this information with anyone you think may be interested. We’ve also included a graphic with the info if that’s easier. Thanks so much for your help!

Wednesday, June 1, 6:00 PM on Zoom

Presentation followed by Q & A

It’s time to dispel some of the myths and mysteries of working on a union film crew.

IATSE Local 488 is the union that covers most Pacific Northwest crew positions/Crafts on motion picture, TV/Streaming, commercials and other digital media productions.

In this hour-long event, IATSE 488 Vice President & Membership Chair,  Rebecca Cook will be discussing some common questions and misconceptions about union film work, including:

  •  how to join the union,
  • what it means to be a union member,
  •  and if union work is even right for you.
  • discussing why and how shows go union.
  • Give green filmmakers some basics on moving into professional film set work.
We hope to answer any questions participants have about professional film crew work that you may have been afraid to ask. It’s a great talk for students and new filmmakers or anyone wanting to understand where unions fit into our industry work.

This presentation is FREE and open to the public.
