The release date and premiere screening for The Chasing Grace Project Episode One: Eighty Twenty, which will take place March 25, 2018 at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Tickets are free but space is limited. Please reserve your ticket today at this link.

While the women’s movement is experiencing a renaissance, a clear indicator of progress is equal pay for equal work and access to opportunity. But the average gender pay gap across industries is stagnant at 20 percent and the climb to leadership positions remains a grueling one for many women. Eighty Twenty will explore through personal stories the impact of the pay and gender gap on women in tech, a gap that was supposed to be closed long ago. As demonstrated in the Project trailer, the episode will witness how women are facing adversities such as this in tech and rising above them, making change and charting successful careers.

Announced today – the Open Source Technology Center at Intel signed on to exclusively sponsor the Portland premiere screening.  Jennifer Cloer  (Co-Founder/Exec Producer, The Chasing Grace Project) said,  “Thanks to Imad Sousou and his team for supporting this important work and exclusively sponsoring the Portland premiere screening. Intel’s work on diversity and inclusiveness is among the strongest in the industry, and we’re excited to partner with them on this Project. Imad shares more about why this work is important to him in his blog today. “

The premiere screening event in Portland will include The Chasing Grace Project photo exhibit ‘Persistence,’ which features local women from the episode, as well as performances by local artists and other surprises.

The Portland Radio Project covered this today (at 9:40 am PT.) You can also learn more about the first episode in the docuseries later this month at the PDXWIT Happy Hour. I’ll also be speaking at TechFestNW the week following the premiere where I’ll share some never before seen footage of episode one. You can catch the next full screening of the episode in Boston in April at The Cloud Foundry Summit, and Jennifer Cloer  will be keynoting later this year at the Open Source Summit in Vancouver, BC.  She will talk about what has been learned from the collective experience of women in tech. Episode two, we’re off to the Silicon Valley in April to begin shooting.

Cloer says, “with The Chasing Grace Project, we are  striving to help recruit and retain women in tech. I’ve learned that every single woman in tech has a story, whether they make the headlines or not. The more we understand them, the more we can build an inclusive industry for all. The tech industry is depending on it.

The Chasing Grace Project is a series of six episodes about women in tech. Each episode tackles a different topic in the public narrative and is shot in a different city. The premiere screening of each episode is hosted in the city where it is shot. This brings together local communities of women and bridges these communities across the country. It is written and directed by Jennifer Cloer and produced and edited by Gary Schillinger, co-founders of Wicked Flicks Productions.
