Art Institute Film to Premiere at Hot Docs Toronto

For the third year in a row, the students of the Winter quarter Documentary Production class at the Art Institute of Portland won a position among the International Documentary Challenge finalists.  The Doc Challenge is a 5-day international filmmaking competition that takes place each March.

The film, Death Goes Green, an intimate portrait of the pioneers of Oregon’s green burial movement, will premiere at the prestigious Hot Docs International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada on May 2nd, where it is up for additional commendations.

Death Goes Green will also screen at Portland’s Hollywood Theatre on April 19th at 7:30pm. This show will feature Doc Challenge submissions from the Northwest, including another Art Institute submission, Into the Sea, as well as selected international finalists.  The public is invited to attend and tickets are available for $7, either at the show or in advance online at: http://tiny.cc/klxnc
