Congrats to “Lifeboat” On Its Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary Emmy Nomination!

2 Two Oregon Towns Feature In HGTV’s Digital Piece – “Must-Visit Small-Town Movie Sets Across America”

HGTV’s digital home, lifestyle, and travel, platform recently posted a piece on “Must-Visit Small-Town Movie Sets Across America“. Oregon was showcased twice in the piece, highlighting both St. Helens and Brownsville. The Oregon Film Trail an initiative produced through Oregon Film’s non-profit, the Oregon Made Creative Foundation) was also mentioned.

St. Helens hosts a 6-week festival every fall that celebrates the beloved Disney movie, Halloweentown (1988) and Summit Entertainment’s Twilight (2008), and more recently all things Halloween and fall-related. The Labor Market Comes to Old Town on Dec 9 & 10

THE LABOR MARKET: Portland film and TV workers put on a free weekend public market and maker fair in Old Town on December 9 and 10.

IATSE Local 488, representing Studio Mechanics (Motion Picture workers) in Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana will host The Labor Market, a holiday event for the general public from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 9 -10 in the Goldsmith Blocks Building on 412 NW Couch Street in Old Town Portland.

BendFilm Launches BIPOC Women Production Film Grant

On-screen representation affects cultural understanding of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ characters. Barriers need to be broken down until equal representation is achieved on-screen and behind the camera.

BendFilm’s Grant will support a BIPOC women artist with $20,000 toward making their short or feature film. The grant supports storytellers who are working to tell creative and complex stories told from a point of view that is unique and authentic.

Portland’s Kurt Rosenberg Brings “The Moon Followed Me to Falmouth” To Oregon Short Film Festival

The Moon Followed Me to Falmouth” will have its  US in-person premiere on Feb. 26th at the Oregon Short Film Festival at the Clinton Street Theater.

The musical short film was Executive Produced by Portland-based composer and filmmaker Kurt Rosenberg, based on his song of the same name. It was brought to life with stunning animation by Joël Gibbs of ARMADA studio.

The Oregon Media Arts Fellowship is a biannual award provided by the Oregon Arts Commission and overseen by the Portland Art Museum’s Center for an Untold Tomorrow (PAM CUT) for outstanding achievement and creativity in the field of media arts in the state of Oregon.

#OregonMade “Sometimes I Think About Dying” In Competition At Sundance

The #OregonMade romantic comedy feature, “Sometimes I Think About Dying”  is set to premiere in competition at Sundance Film Festival (January 19, 04:00 PM – 7:00 PM) in the US dramatic feature section. Stefanie Abel Horowitz wrote the original short and as well as the feature (with co-writers Kevin Armento and Katy Wright Mead) and it was directed by Rachel Lambert, with Daisy Ridley producing and playing the lead, “Fran”.
