TAC International Film and Video Festival is the only juried competition for cultural heritage films in the Western Hemisphere. The five-day event celebrates the wonders of human diversity with award-winning films from around the world. Topics that range from archaeology and ancient cultures to indigenous peoples and their environments will come alive with historic reenactments, powerful storytelling and amazing digital effects.

27 films from 13 countries have been chosen to be screened for the 9th annual Festival. The films will be shown on the big screen in the Recital Hall at The Shedd in downtown Eugene, from May 8-12. The films will cover topics such as the Flores Island Hobbit, the awe-inspiring desert of Libya, the vanishing traces of old Beijing, the architecture of Gothic cathedrals, and much more.

This year's Keynote Speaker is the internationally recognized Maya hieroglyphs expert, Dr. Mark Van Stone, who will be speaking on the real meaning of the Mayan Calendar and 2012. A Conference on Cultural Heritage Films and exciting guided tours will also take place during the Festival week. Tickets: Tues-Thurs $10; Friday (w/ Keynote): $18; Sat AM session $10; Sat PM Session $10. Ticket packages are $50 before April 15. Please see our website for full film listing and event guide.
