HOLLYWOOD THEATRE & KEVIN CARROLL CELEBRATE OREGON’S BCS TITLE GAME WITH PEP RALLY FOR THE ARTS
Event to include clips from classic sports films with commentary from Kevin Carroll, Grant High drumline and auction
PORTLAND, Ore. (Dec.20, 2010) – ‘Tis the season to have Duck fever! On January 8 from 3-5pm, Film Action Oregon (FAO), provider of non-profit support to Oregon’s independent filmmaking community and owner and operator of the historic Hollywood Theatre, will celebrate the University of Oregon’s invitation to play in the BCS National Championship game with a Pep Rally for the Arts. Teaming FAO with local author, speaker and creative catalyst Kevin Carroll, the event will make for an exciting game-day experience at the Hollywood Theatre.
Long known for their motivational - and emotional - value, clips from some of the most powerful sports films ever produced will be screened during the rally by Carroll, author of “Rules of the Red Rubber Ball”. A sports-themed auction will include items courtesy of the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Seahawks as well as famed Nike designer Tinker Hatfield.
Tickets to the Pep Rally for the Arts are on sale now ($10 Gen Admission, $5 Students) at the Hollywood Theatre box office and on the Hollywood Theatre website. All proceeds support FAO’s film production and animation education programs.
Also: On January 10, the Hollywood Theatre will screen the BCS Championship Game live on the big screen! (Free admission and beer for sale!)
