María Félix, widely regarded as the “most beautiful face in the history of Mexican cinema,” was a one-time lover of Diego Rivera and starred in a string of “moustache meets mantilla” melodramas in which her strong character is finally overwhelmed by a still stronger male. ENAMORADA follows the same theme but on a lighter note—a Mexican “Taming of the Shrew.” A revolutionary general rides into the conservative town of Cholula, near Mexico City, and while thinning the local aristocracy, falls head over heels for Beatriz (Félix), the hotheaded daughter of the town’s wealthiest reactionary. Revolution, religion, love, and humor mix in a mythic reformulation of national archetypes. (99 mins.)

María Félix, considerada por muchos como "el más hermoso rostro en la historia del cine mexicano," y amante de Diego Rivera protagoniza la serie de "bigote con mantilla" melodramas en los que su carácter fuerte es abrumado por un hombre aún más fuerte. Enamorada sigue el mismo tema pero en una nota más ligera, "La fierecilla domada." Trata de un conservador general revolucionario que llega a la ciudad de Cholula, cerca de la Ciudad de México, buscando desvanecer a la aristocracia del pueblo, pero se enamora de Beatriz (Maria Félix ), una de las hijas de los más ricos de la ciudad. Esta pelicula mezcla muy bien los temas de momento revolución, religión, amor, y humor en una reformulación de los arquetipos miticos nacionales de ese tiempo. (99 min.)
