April 17, 2017

Make a short documentary in 10 weeks! Week 1: brainstorm ideas; week10: prepare to premiere your work on the big screen. Each class covers the steps of making a documentary with an emphasis on storytelling. Students work in groups outside of class to shoot and edit their films. Editing computers are available at NW Doc, or you can work on your own. Projects are screened at Homegrown DocFest on May 12th at the Clinton Street Theater!

The screening event will feature the half-hour special followed by a Q&A with OPB Producer Eric Slade and artists from the show. You’ll also have a chance to enter a random drawing to win passes to the 2017 Northwest Animation Festival.

Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Full event details available at opb.org/animation.

Venue Note: The event will be held in NW Film Center's Whitsell Auditorium located on the lower level of the Portland Art Museum.
