NW Documentary and Pickathon are teaming up to create an experience that you’ll want to change your plans for.

If you define yourself as a filmmaker, a journalist, a visual storyteller, a film school graduate, or someone seeking a hands-on experience to enhance your communications/media resume...

then keep reading!

Our 10-day Field Production Workshop is an experience starting Monday, July 29th in Happy Valley, Oregon, on the grounds of the Pickathon Music Festival. All participants have the opportunity to produce (plan, practice, shoot, edit) professional-grade documentary films centered around Pickathon’s handpicked culinary partners. You will craft your farm-to-table narrative, both from inside the kitchens, and on the farms that produce the food, interviewing all the players along the way.

Final projects will be published on Pickathon’s official channels with your name in the credits.

In your down time, you can explore one of the best music festivals on the west coast!

Tuition Includes:
1) A 4-day pass to Pickathon Music Festival and all it has to offer

2) Early access to our filmmaker’s tent block to set up your tent and camping gear (load in Monday, July 29)

3) Opportunity to travel to the local farms and food providers to collect shots and interviews with Oregon farmers

4) A team of fellow filmmakers and instructors to help realize and perfect your vision

5) Access to on-site kitchens to watch experienced chefs in their spaces, doing what they do best (capture your hamburger flips and flaming saute pans full of vegetables here!)

6) Professional filmmaking cameras and equipment (Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K)!

7) Daily instruction and workshops to help refine your filmmaking skills and maximize your experience

8) Networking opportunities in the filmmaking, music, and food industries

9) Delicious food, straight from the chefs

This program is accepting sign-ups on a first come first serve basis.
