Everyone has ideas for their dream film project. But how do you fund it using your social network? In this panel event, 3 filmmakers will share their experience of funding feature-length projects through Kickstarter and individual fundraising events. Topics include best practices for crowdfunding platforms, how to coordinate and promote a successful fundraising event and how to leverage social media to reach your maximum audience. Practice developing your pitch, learn about relationship-building with donors and devise the ultimate social media campaign. Panelists include Lydia B. Smith, Director/Producer of Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago who raised over $300,000 in individual contributions for her film, Ian Clark who funded his film A Morning Light through Kickstarter, and Kia Geraths, filmmaker and social media guru.
